Titus 2
The elder women likewise, that [they be] in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
That they may teach the young women(neos) to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,[To be] discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

“keepers at home”
The word ” oikouros” translated “keepers at home” <3626> carries the meaning of watchman so she is not JUST a “domestic servant” !!!

She is charged with guarding the home
from enemy onslaught!!!

It reminds me of the charge to Adam in the garden of Eden where the word “shamar” translated “keep” also carries the meaning of watchman, indicating that he was not JUST a “gardener”
Gen 2:15¶
And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden
to dress it and to keep it.

The term “housekeeper” does not do justice to the high and holy calling of a wife any more than the term “grounds-keeper” or “gardener” does justice to a man’s high and holy calling!
